If we say that the Camino is an inner road, it is a good idea to get
some guidance that may help you experience the Camino from this
perspective and may help you prepare for the pilgrimage.
These books may be of help:
Meditations of a Pilgrim
By Vicente Malabia. Ediciones Narcea. This is a collection
of reflections of a pilgrim in different moments during his pilgrimage.
It is very well written and offers many insights to better understand
the Camino from the perspective mentioned earlier.

The Camino de Santiago: A Pilgrim’s Notebook
By Jose Maria Alvear. Ediciones PPC. It has very good
practical advice on preparing for the pilgrimage, some basic maps, and
a list of refuges like any Camino guidebook. But it has much more. It
is an authentic inner guidebook for pilgrims and contains many brief
passages (including remarks by pilgrims) to help pilgrims understand
the meaning of the Camino and the pilgrimage itself. It also has
activities that can be done all along the Camino either individually or
in a group to help with the inner processes that the pilgrim
experiences.
Praying During the Camino de Santiago
Various authors. Ediciones Monte Carmelo. Very well edited
with many photographs and suggestions for prayer at many places and
times along the Camino. There is a very interesting section with advice
on how to experience the Camino from a Christian perspective and a very
good historical introduction.
