There is a series of refuges that belong to the Church where you will not be treated any better than in the other pilgrim refuges. A good welcome does not depend on who is running the refuge or on its facilities. A loving Christian welcome where you are not asked for anything in return can be found in many places on the Camino, sometimes when you least expect it. Even though they may not give it in the name of Christ, it is a Christian welcome.

In the parish or monastery refuges you will find an environment that is more conducive to reflection and prayer.
